Principal's Message
Dear Central families and friends,
Welcome back to the final term of the school year. Term 4 is always a busy one, with plenty of learning, events, and preparation for the end of year celebrations.
As we move through the term, it’s important that all students continue to meet our school behaviour expectations. Respect, responsibility and effort are expected at all times, both in the classroom and in the playground. Consistent standards help ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone. We have a school behaviour code of conduct that directs us to understand the expectations placed upon every member of our community, and it is found here- https://warwickcentralss.eq.edu.au/supportandresources/formsanddocuments/documents/behaviour/warwick%20central%20state%20school%20student%20code%20of%20conduct%202025%20-%202028.pdf
This term is a significant one for our Year 6 students as they complete their final term of primary school. We look forward to recognising their achievements and marking this important milestone. They have many upcoming privileges to be part of, and I look forward to seeing everyone's inclusion in them.
There are many events to look forward to in the weeks ahead. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain high expectations and a strong finish to the year.
Thank You for a Wonderful 150th Celebration!
What an incredible day we had! A heartfelt thank you to our families, students, P&C, and staff for making Warwick Central State School’s 150th celebrations such a success. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and community spirit shone through in every part of the day.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the bake stall, volunteered their time, helped with set-up and pack-up, or simply came along to join in the fun. It was wonderful to see past and present members of our school community come together to celebrate our rich history and bright future. Our choir and band sounded wonderful, our captains did excellent school tours, and our staff worked tirelessly to serve on the day. I have received many an email of thanks and compliments about how well the day was organised and how so many past students and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves here.
We are so proud to be part of such a supportive and caring community — thank you for helping make our 150th birthday one to remember! Let's not turn 150 ever again! ;-)
School Opinion Survey
I am thrilled to receive the 2025 School Opinion Survey this week, which is essentially our school's "report card" on how we're doing. I am happy to report that we had a larger number of parents complete the survey this year, of which I am grateful for. Please see below a small snippet of results of what our staff, students and parents say about us- we are indeed a great school, and I am pleased to see our continued positive growth in many areas!

Social media age restrictions
The Australian Government is protecting young Australians at a critical stage of their development, through world-first social media age restrictions.
From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account.
The restrictions aim to protect young Australians from pressures and risks that users can be exposed to while logged in to social media accounts. These come from design features that encourage them to spend more time on screens, while also serving up content that can harm their health and wellbeing.
While no formal assessments have been made, the age restrictions are likely to apply to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, among other platforms.
More generally, age restrictions will apply to social media platforms that meet three specific conditions, unless they are excluded based on criteria set in out in legislative rules made by the Minister for Communications in July 2025.
The conditions for age restriction are:
- the sole purpose, or a significant purpose, of the service is to enable online social interaction between two or more end-users
- the service allows end-users to link to, or interact with, some or all of the other end-users
- the service allows end-users to post material on the service.
Online gaming and standalone messaging apps are among a number of types of services that have been excluded under the legislative rules. However, messaging services that have social-media style features which allow users to interact in other ways apart from messaging may be included in the age restrictions, as well as messaging features accessed through age-restricted social media accounts.
