Newsletter Week 2 Term 3 2025
Principal's Message
Welcome back to Term 3!
I hope our school community enjoyed a relaxing school holiday. We are gearing up for another big term, filled with events and activities for our entire community. Not to mention, the coming to school and learning part, that's mighty important as well!
The 150th celebrations are at the forefront of our minds at the minute, and planning and organisation is really ramping up. Our small but dedicated committee are meeting fortnightly now to ensure that the day will run as smoothly as possible, and we show off our incredible school to all that pass through the gates.
Congratulations go out to our Southern Downs Athletics nominees, who will represent at the SD Track & Field Carnival on Mon 4 August at Allora SS.
Good luck to our students competing in the Reader's Cup Challenge this week.
It is a busy term, please keep across our communication channels to be up to date on all things at Central.
Stay warm!

Project Club
There are still Cadbury chocolate fundraising boxes available to purchase from the office, to sell for vital funds for our Year 6 camp bus! Please see Mrs Gilchrist if you think you can sell another box for us!
The Project Club are running a $1 raffle for students until mid-next week, with the prizes being delicious, scrumptious chocolate!

P&C News- 150th information
There's lots happening with the P&C at the moment!
They are heavily involved with the 150th commemorations. They are organising merchandise to sell, a bake sale on the day, and hosting the 150th dinner on Friday 12 September- all to fundraise for projects that give back to our school and our students.
The P&C are also selling personalised pavers as a part of the 150th, see below the order form- but you can collect a form from the school office to return with payment options. The school will use these in upcoming restoration/renovation projects around the school. A fabulous memento to have, you/your family's name on a brick in the school grounds!
We thank them for the P&C's commitment to this big event. Please see the information below about helping to make some yummies for our big day, order a brick paver, or to buy a ticket to our special 150th dinner event.
TUCKSHOP IS ALSO BACK ON FRIDAYS! - Starting this week!

School Opinion Suvery 2025
The suite of School Opinion Surveys is undertaken each year by the Department of Education to
obtain opinions about our school from families, school staff and students in target year levels (5,
6, 8 and 11). The surveys will help identify what we are doing well, and understand where we can
improve. The survey invitation will be emailed in the week beginning 21 July and is titled School
Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2025.
Each school family will receive one email invitation from the Department of Education to complete
the Parent/Caregiver Survey. The survey is anonymous, and the results are not reported in ways
that an individual’s response can be identified by the school.
Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to complete the survey. The survey can be completed via
computers, tablets or smart phones with an internet connection.
For Parents/Caregivers who do not have access to the internet school computers/tablets will be
available. Parents/caregivers who experience difficulties accessing the survey can request a new
survey from the School Opinion Survey team via email schoolopinionsurvey@qed.qld.gov.au.
It’s important that as many parents/caregivers as possible complete the survey, so we would
appreciate if members of this committee would raise awareness of this survey with other parents
and caregivers.
Can’t find your invitation? If your family has more than one parent/caregiver, check that they
haven’t received the invitation and/or check your junk email folder.
